About Elyssa
I offer piano and flute lessons to beginner-intermediate child and adult learners. I travel to your home to complete lessons.
Since graduating from Monash University in 2018 with my Bachelor of Music specialising in Classical Flute performance, I have tutored students in Canada and Australia, helping all my students reach their musical goals through both in-person and online lessons. I teach under the philosophy that for a student to thrive and love the music they are creating, a nurturing environment must be fostered. I am passionate about helping students of all ages, including adult learners, learn effectively while having fun. I have a current Working With Children Check.
I received an Honors grade in the AMEB Grade 8 Flute exam. I am classically trained in piano performance, receiving Honors on my grade 8 Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exam, and have a great knowledge of basic – intermediate theory. I received an Honors grade in Intermediate Theory through RCM. My experience ranges from playing in wind symphonies, chamber groups, solo, and in a flute ensemble.

Online Lessons
Online lessons are offered to students anywhere (including internationally), particularly those outside of the local Brisbane area, for flute and piano. Please contact me for more info about online details lesson and fees.
Group Programs
I offer group lesson and chamber ensemble lesson programs during term breaks. These programs are designed based on the unique group of students that are enrolled based on their skills and goals.

Group Keyboard and Music Theory classes are aimed at beginner piano players who want to get an introduction to playing the piano. Groups range from 3-5 students, and we will explore how to play the piano, read music and learn basic music theory.

Chamber Ensembles are for the young musician who want to explore how to play their wind instrument with a group of others. This builds aural skills such as playing in tune with others, rhythm skills, and group work skills. For this ensemble, experience on the instrument and note reading skills are essential. Students will be booked with other musicians of a similar experience level.

Please submit an expression of interest if you are hoping to enroll your child in a term break music program. Include information about the age and musical experience of the child, as well as any goals that you and they have.
One-Off Lessons
I offer one-off lesson bookings for piano and flute students who are looking for a lesson with a new teacher to gain a new perspective on musicianship and performance of their pieces. These are designed with the goal that the student will broaden their horizons and be able to return to their usual teacher with a new and different understanding of their music practice.
Additional Information
Lessons will occur at the student’s home unless otherwise discussed.
Online lessons are available, please enquire for specific details including pricing and scheduling.
Lessons can be booked on a lesson-by-lesson basis, or booked for the entire term. Booking for an entire term ensures your lessons time slot will be consistent week-by-week.
Students are given 1 last minute lesson cancellation to account for emergency or illness. All other lessons will be billed if less than 48 hours notice is given to cancel or reschedule.
For every additional student registered for lessons at the same residence in successive time slots, a 10% discount will be applied to the lesson fees.
