This is a modified class with new material from the first performance practice class for any students who are attending Performance Practice a second time. We will discuss musical qualities of each student’s music choice, dramatising a performance, and learning more about the piano instrument itself. This class is created for students who are interested in delving into the details of music and performance on the piano. Each student will have approximately 15 minutes at the piano to perform, workshop pieces, and experiment on the instrument. Audience members will be engaged with listening activities, providing feedback, and also experimenting on the piano when the time and opportunity presents itself. 

Performance Practice for students aged 9 and under

In this class we will practice performing in front of our peers, work on expressing music clearly, bowing, walking on stage, and artistic use of hands. We will also include some games to work on rhythm, note recognition and other foundational musical skills. Audience members will be involved with listening activities, providing feedback, and practicing performance techniques.
